However, what made the play even better was the reaction that the Mavericks star, along with owner Mark Cuban, had after the play was reviewed.
Initially, officials called the fourth-quarter dunk an offensive foul, supposedly because he extended his arm and made contact with Doncic in the face. In disbelief, Warriors coach Steve Kerr called for a challenge almost immediately.
After review, the offensive foul call was reversed, and the team got to celebrate arguably the best dunk of this Golden State postseason campaign. Not everyone was celebrating in Dallas, however, as footage of Cuban and Doncic shows that they were shocked at the outcome.
Cuban, after hearing the announcement over the arena’s PA, put his hands on his head and then put them together in a prayer pose for an extended period of time. He then made a review motion, as if he was asking Dallas to challenge the challenge.
Doncic was just as incredulous. He threw his hands up, placed them on his face as he started laughing in disbelief, and then placed them on his head before speaking with an official.
The Wiggins dunk drew comparisons to the Baron Davis poster on Andrei Kirilenko during the 2007 playoffs, better known as the We Believe era. Davis said he was a fan of the Wiggins poster:
